Welcome to the Village Way 

We are located in the heart of Historic Port Jefferson Village, once a prominent shipbuilding port and just 199 steps from the Port Jefferson Ferry (serving Bridgeport, Connecticut). The quaint village offers wonderful shops museums and of course, The Village Way Restaurant (previously Chandler’s Pub) which has been a landmark in the village for over 35 years.

Please come and enjoy the rustic atmosphere and casual dining. We feature an indoor fireplace in the colder months and outdoor patio dining from April 15 to October 15, weather permitting.

We are open year round (Closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas) and we offer daily lunch and dinner specials.

Our Early Bird Dinner is a favorite including appetizer, entrée, and dessert and is featured at $14.95 (does not include tax & gratuity) and is available Sunday through Friday from 3pm to 5:30 pm. 

Another favorite is Pasta Night every Thursday from 3:00pm til close which includes soup or salad, a choice of entrée, choice of dessert and coffee and tea for $ 14.95 (does not include tax & gratuity)

We are a family restaurant and welcome children with our children’s menu featured at $6.95 which includes a drink, entrée and dessert. If you plan on visiting the Village Center’s Skating on the Harbor with your children this winter season, please be sure to save your admission tickets for one free children’s meal with every adult entree purchased.

We also offer a Saturday (11am to 2pm) and Sunday (11am to 2pm) Ala Carte Brunch menu at $ 14.95 for adults and $ 6.95 for children. Brunch includes a complementary Bloody Mary, Mimosa or Champagne with each adult Brunch entrée purchased (available after 12pm on Sunday).

 The Dickens Festival which is held the first weekend in December transports the Village of Port Jefferson back into the Victorian Era to the time of Charles Dickens, author of “A Christmas Carol”. On these days the restaurant staff is dressed in period costumes serving authentic Victorian cuisine as well as our regular menu. Please join us for the festive time among beautiful holiday decorations, live carolers, horse drawn carriage rides, Dickens characters and more. A traditional favorite for the holiday season: “A Christmas Carol” is presented LIVE on stage at Theatre Three during the month of December , just 3 blocks from the restaurant (Please check the playbill for money saving offers) and let us be your choice for dinner before the show. 

We specialize in intimate holiday catering lunch & dinners where our Fireplace Room is available for parties of 10 to 28 persons Please ask about these catering packages starting at $18.95 per person which include salad, entrée, dessert, coffee and tea. 

Every weekend we Rock the Boat at our full service bar which features Live Entertainment on weekends. KARAOKE every Saturday.
